Join us at the final Lorain County Wellness Network meeting of 2018. Mingle, celebrate, and make connections with local Lorain County worksites and start 2019 off with fresh ideas and new members to your professional network. Hear from local wellness specialist Amber Slotta from the regional employee benefits consulting firm, Chapman and Chapman. Slotta will discuss the importance of wellness in the workplace, strategies and programming for disease prevention, incentives, and tracking results. No cost to attend and breakfast is provided.

 Lorain County Public Health will also be celebrating the results of the September walking challenge, Step it Up Lorain County, in which 30 worksites and 647 walkers participated. Worksites found creative ways to get moving during their work day with walking meetings and walking breaks. The following winners will be recognized at the Lorain County Wellness Network meeting:

  • Overall winner: Lorain Port Authority with an average of 12,108 steps per person per day
  • Most Improved: Brookside Middle School improved their average by 1,173 steps per person per day over four weeks
  • Team Spirit: Educational Service Center of Lorain County captured photos and engaged in social media to share the ways they “stepped it up”

Participation is not limited to wellness champions with worksites or groups participating in the challenge. Tips for wellness engagement will be shared broadly.


The Lorain County Wellness Network is a county-wide networking opportunity that provides local, credible and timely health and wellness information to businesses. The network meets quarterly for breakfast at locations around Lorain County to provide a forum for sharing local wellness successes and resources. There is no cost to join this opportunity to improve the health and well-being of your workforce!

Who should attend: Employers, Human Resource Professionals, Wellness Coordinators, Wellness Team Members, Occupational Nurses, Leaders of Faith-based Organizations, Health Ministry Coordinators, Parish Nurses, Community Leaders and Community Partners.
