Daylight savings is around the corner, and fewer hours of daylight may cause a desire to hibernate. Protect yourself from going into hibernation mode by finding fun ways to get physically active every day. The Lorain County General Health District (LCGHD) invites residents to come to Fit Walks to improve overall wellness, manage weight, and meet new friends.

“Many people don’t know that on Thursday evenings, Fit Walks participants can use the fitness equipment at the Mercy Health and Recreation Center at no cost!” said David Covell, MPH, RS, LCGHD health commissioner. “Turning daily fitness into a habit is easier when no-cost options like Fit Walks are available.”

Fit Walks dates in November are:

Join a walk whenever you have time in your schedule; a weekly commitment is not necessary. Bottled water and a chance to win prizes available. No membership is required and all ages are invited to join. Fit Walks is sponsored by LCGHD, the WOBL and WDLW radio stations and the Lorain County Metro Parks. There is no cost to attend Fit Walks.
